stainless steel 253 ma is actually an austenitic material which has very good strength and excellent resistance to oxidation up to a temperature range of 2000 deg f and it also resists high heats. in this material carbon, nitrogen and rare earth and alkali metal oxide dispersions mix together to provide very good creep strength. ss 253 ma steel is the material that is designed to make it useful at the temperature that is greater than 550 deg c. therefore the 253ma sheets & plates are said to be ideal for use in the temperature ranges of 850-1100 deg c.
the common applications where 253ma sheets & plates are found are stack dampers, furnaces, refinery tube hangers, burners, furnace components, boiler nozzles. it is also found in other applications such as automotive, marine, railway carriages, aerospace, heat exchangers, oil & gas industry, power plants, food industry, chemical industry, oil & gas industry, pharmaceuticals, instrumentation, etc.
