About the Industrial Flange Manufacturing Process

Date:2025-11-28
The flange manufacturing process typically includes the following steps:

Raw Material Preparation: Select appropriate materials (such as carbon steel, stainless steel, etc.) as raw materials. Inspect and confirm the quality of the raw materials to ensure they meet processing requirements.

Cutting: Use cutting equipment (such as shearing machines, flame cutting machines, plasma cutting machines, etc.) to cut the raw materials into blocks or plates of the required dimensions.

Machining Preparation: Mark hole positions, connection locations, etc., on the cut raw materials according to the flange design requirements. Clean and grind the surface of the raw materials to remove rust, oxides, and other impurities for subsequent processing.

Hole Machining: Use equipment such as drilling machines, punch presses, or CNC machine tools to machine holes at the pre-marked locations. Precise control of hole dimensions and positions is required to ensure the quality of the connection with other components.

Forming: According to design requirements, use equipment such as punch presses, bending machines, or forging presses to form the basic shape of the flange from the machined sheet metal.

Flange manufacturing welding: The formed flange parts are welded, typically using methods such as electric arc welding, gas shielded welding, or laser welding. The welding process requires strict control of welding temperature, welding speed, and welding quality to ensure a strong and uniform weld.

Flange manufacturing, polishing, and surface treatment: The welded flanges undergo polishing and surface treatment to make their surfaces smooth, scratch-free, and meet the surface roughness standards required by the design.

Flange manufacturing quality inspection: The processed flanges undergo quality inspection, including dimensional measurement, visual inspection, and weld inspection. This ensures that the flanges meet the requirements of relevant standards and specifications, possessing good performance and safety.

Flange manufacturing, packaging, and shipping: Qualified flanges are packaged, typically using wooden crates, pallets, or packaging bags. Outgoing inspection is conducted, and corresponding quality certificates and product identification are provided for user identification and use. These steps constitute the flange manufacturing process, and each step requires strict control and operation to ensure that the quality and performance of the final product meet the requirements.
