astm a182 is the standard specification for forged stainless steel pipe flanges and stainless steel forged fittings.
astm 182 is use in pressure systems, included are flanges, fittings and similar parts to specified dimensions or to dimensional standards, such as the asme specifications.
astm 182 f22 stainless steel is a low alloy steel containing nominally 2.25% chromium. this f22 stainless steel is widely used in the oil patch wellhead applications for connectors, hangers and block valves.

heat treatment
normalizing: temperature: 920°-980°c.
stress relieving: stree relieving to remove maching stresses should be carried out by heating to 675°c, holding for one hour at heat, followed by air cooling. this operation is performed to reduce distortion during heat treatment.
austenization: temperature:920°-980°c
tempering: tempering temperature: 650°-750°c
forging: hot forming temperature: 850°-1050°c
