316L stainless steel pipe material grade, AISI 316L is the corresponding American grade, sus 316L is the corresponding Japanese grade. My country's unified digital code is S31603, the standard grade is 022Cr17Ni12Mo2 (new standard), and the old grade is 00Cr17Ni14Mo2, indicating that it mainly contains Cr, Ni, and Mo, and the numbers indicate the approximate percentage.
Performance advantages of 316L seamless steel pipe:
- Corrosion fatigue: refers to the damage caused by the material in the corrosive medium under the action of alternating stress.
- Corrosion rate: The corrosion depth of metal materials per unit time is called corrosion rate.
- Electrochemical corrosion: The corrosion caused by the contact of stainless steel seamless pipes with electrolytes such as acids, alkalis, and salts is called electrochemical corrosion. Its characteristic is that electric current is generated during the corrosion process, and its corrosion product (the metal surface as the anode is not covered with rust, but keeps a certain distance from the anode metal.
- General corrosion: This corrosion is evenly distributed on the entire inner and outer surfaces, causing the cross-section to continuously decrease, and eventually damaging the load-bearing parts.
- Pitting corrosion: Corrosion is concentrated in the area on the surface of the stainless steel seamless steel pipe. The volume is small, the development is rapid, and it penetrates the metal, which is a very harmful corrosion damage.
Chemical composition of 316L stainless steel pipe:
Carbon C: ≤0.030; Silicon Si: ≤1.00; Manganese Mn: ≤2.00; Sulfur S: ≤0.030; Phosphorus P: ≤0.045; Chromium Cr: 16.00~18.00; Nickel Ni: 10.00~14.00; Molybdenum Mo: 2.00~3.00
Mechanical properties of 316L stainless steel pipe:
Tensile strength σb (MPa): ≥480; Conditional yield strength σ0.2 (MPa): ≥177; elongation δ5 (%): ≥40; cross-sectional shrinkage ψ (%): ≥60; hardness: ≤187HB; ≤90HRB; ≤200HV; density: 7.98g/cm3; solid solution 1010~1150℃ rapid cooling.
Industrial application of 316L stainless steel pipe:
Mainly used in industrial pipelines and mechanical structural parts such as petroleum, chemical, medical, food, light industry, mechanical instruments, etc. In addition, when the bending and torsional strengths are the same, the weight is lighter, so it is also widely used in the manufacture of mechanical parts and engineering structures.
