Differences between Galvanized Pipes and Stainless Steel Pipes

First, the concepts of galvanized steel pipes and stainless steel pipes are different.
● Galvanizing involves coating a layer of zinc onto the outer layer of a steel plate. This prevents corrosion and extends the lifespan of the galvanized steel pipe. Generally, steel pipes made of galvanized steel are called galvanized steel plates.
● Stainless steel, on the other hand, resists weak corrosion from air, moisture, steam, and chemical corrosion from acids, alkalis, and salts.

Second, the processing techniques of galvanized steel pipes and stainless steel pipes are different.
● Galvanized steel pipes have a layer of zinc coating on their surface, which provides excellent corrosion protection and extends the pipe's service life.
● Stainless steel pipes have other metallic elements added to the steel, causing internal structural changes that prevent rusting.

Third, galvanized steel pipes and stainless steel pipes have different application areas.
● Galvanized steel pipes are used not only as pipelines for transporting general low-pressure fluids such as water, gas, and oil, but also as oil well pipes and oil pipelines in the petroleum industry, especially in offshore oil fields; oil heaters, condensers, and coal tar wash oil exchangers in chemical and coking equipment; and as support frames for trestle piles and mine tunnels.
● Stainless steel pipes are widely used in industrial pipelines for petroleum, chemical, medical, food, light industry, and machinery, as well as in mechanical structural components. Furthermore, while maintaining the same bending and torsional strength, they are lighter in weight, so they are also widely used in the manufacture of mechanical parts and engineering structures. They are also commonly used in the production of various conventional weapons, gun barrels, and artillery shells.
