Weldolet is the most common of all branch connections, and is welded onto the outlet pipe. The ends are beveled to facilitate this process.
Sockolet have a socket into which a plain end. branch pipe is inserted, then fillet welded together. It is a type of self-reinforced branch fitting.
Threadolet is one type of forged threaded fittings which to screw the connecting pipe or fittings to the branch connection.
Advantages:
Weldolet: Compatible with higher pressure and simple connection, cost lower. Thickness in SCH STD, SCH XS, SCH 160 to SCH XXS.
Sockolet: Compatible with higher pressure but cost is higher. Pressure ratings in 3000#, 6000#.
Threadolet: Easy to replace and maintain, cost is higher. Pressure ratings in 3000#, 6000#.
