Industrial A106C seamless steel pipe boasts superior mechanical properties

Date:2025-11-04
A106C seamless steel pipe strictly adheres to the standards of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), implementing ASTM A106/A106M and ASME SA106/SA106M specifications. Specifically designed for high-temperature and high-pressure conditions, it is widely used in fluid transport systems in boilers, power plants, oil refineries, and chemical industries. Its core advantage lies in the dual guarantee of the seamless steel pipe's material and mechanical properties:

A106C seamless steel pipe uses a C, Mn, and Si composition, with a carbon content ≤0.35%, a manganese content of 0.29%-1.06%, and a silicon content ≥0.10%. Simultaneously, the content of harmful elements such as phosphorus and sulfur is strictly limited (P≤0.035%, S≤0.35%), and material embrittlement is avoided by controlling the total content of five alloying elements: copper, nickel, chromium, molybdenum, and vanadium (≤1.00%). During production, for every 0.01% decrease in carbon content, the manganese content is allowed to increase by 0.06%, but the upper limit is no more than 1.35%, ensuring that the material retains good toughness and creep resistance at high temperatures.

After hot rolling or cold drawing, A106C seamless steel pipes have a tensile strength ≥485MPa, a yield strength ≥275MPa, and an elongation ≥20%, and can stably withstand high-temperature environments below 450℃ and high-pressure conditions. Its mechanical properties far exceed those of A106A (tensile strength ≥330MPa) and A106B (tensile strength ≥415MPa), and are similar to those of domestic Q345 seamless steel pipes (tensile strength 490-675MPa, yield strength ≥345MPa). However, through composition optimization and process control, it exhibits superior high-temperature stability.

From raw material inspection and smelting to finished product testing, A106C seamless steel pipes undergo 12 quality inspection processes, including spectral analysis, hydrostatic testing, and ultrasonic flaw detection, to ensure the absence of defects such as porosity and slag inclusions. The products come with material reports, mechanical property test reports, and third-party testing certificates, supporting customer re-inspection and truly fulfilling the dual commitment of "guaranteeing material quality and performance."
