Anti-corrosion epoxy powder coated steel pipe paint coating quality inspection

Date:2023-09-18

anti-corrosion epoxy powder-coated steel pipe paint coating quality inspection:
1) if defects such as missing coating, sagging, and wrinkled skin are found during coating, they should be dealt with in time, and the wet film thickness should be measured with a wet film thickness gauge. before each coat is applied, the appearance of the previous coat should be inspected.

2) appearance inspection of the coating: the surface of the paint film is required to be smooth and consistent in color, without defects such as spray leakage, sagging, wrinkling, bubbles, pinholes, cracks, etc.; there is also no impurity no segregation.

3) inspection of coating thickness of anti-corrosion epoxy powder-coated steel pipe: the thickness of the paint film is measured with a magnetic thickness gauge. measure points every 1.5m on the two ends and the middle of the single-section steel pipe. the thickness of the paint film should meet 85%, that is, the thickness of 85% of the measuring points should reach the specified value of the design requirements, and the minimum thickness of the measuring points that cannot reach the thickness should not be lower than 85% of the design thickness.

4) anti-corrosion epoxy powder-coated steel pipe coating adhesion inspection: use a hard tool to draw a knife edge with an angle of 60° on the coating for spot checks. the coating should be cut through to the substrate, and the scratch should be pasted with tape then tear off the tape quickly in the vertical direction, observe the scratches after tearing off the tape, the coating should not peel off. it can also be checked on a test panel sprayed under the same conditions.
